Advisory services offered through CS Planning Corp., an SEC registered investment advisor.

Our Process

All advisory clients and asset management clients work with Seven Summits Capital, LLC on a fully discretionary basis. Unlike most investment advisory businesses, we do not start with preset investment models and then "best fit" the client to a model.  We start with the client.  We meet the client where they are on their journey to build wealth, grow, and preserve it.  We will not judge a client for the choices made in the past; we will help them chart their way forward, discussing goals, milestones, and what an acceptable "mission accomplished" looks like 10, 20, or 30 years down the road.

Curt Stauffer, our founder, Chief Investment Officer, and President, is an experienced credit and equity analyst, portfolio manager, and strategist.  He leads the security selection process and portfolio design. We utilize the services of Valuentum and Simply Wall St for fundamental equity analysis, screening, and valuation. Proprietary security selection enables a quick and effective process to condense thousands of potential equity investments to a manageable list of less than one hundred active and "on deck" stocks. These screened candidates are further scrutinized using a combination of quantitative and qualitative measures. Once an equity is identified as a potential portfolio investment, we utilize a combination of cash flow-centric valuation targets and our multi-factor, long-term valuation projections to determine intermediate and long-term price expectations. Target prices are revisited as specific macro and company-specific factors change, typically influenced by earnings announcements and other company-specific events. Target price revisions determine the degree to which we execute our sell discipline.

Security selection and valuation cannot be distilled into a one-size-fits-all process. Our process is fundamentally driven, nimble, and adaptive, and we view this as a significant competitive advantage in an industry that has become increasingly passive and systematically driven.

Fixed-income securities are primarily sourced through a long-standing relationship with a nearly 50-year-old institutional bond brokerage firm. The monitoring of fixed-income securities is a collaborative effort between our Seven Summits Capital and specialized credit staff at the bond brokerage firm. Bonds are purchased with the intent of holding to maturity; however, opportunities are continuously evaluated, which might compel us to sell existing bond positions and replace them with bonds deemed to present more favorable risk/return opportunities.
